“Over the years I have learned that what is important in a dress is the woman who is wearing it.”
These are inspiring words from Yves Saint Laurent.
Elegance is the attribute of being unusually effective and simple. In other words, “effortlessly striking”.
Recently I have been called “fancy”, said with a smirk on their face. What is wrong with being fancy? Or being casual for that matter?
Elegance to me does not mean overdone or perfect or all-put-together.

“Elegance does not consist in putting on a new dress.”
These words were said by Coco Chanel, a woman whom I admire for her strength, determination and class. If you’ve ever heard her story and how she came to be worldly famous you know she didn’t come by it easily.
Through trials and failures and more roadblocks, she never gave up. Even when the world was saying “you’ll never be, why try?!” she did not listen. Coco followed her passion and made her dreams possible.
Her journey was filled with joyous moments, and heartaches, and in the end she left a legacy of elegance and poise.

You may have seen some of my videos from the short-lived “Unpolished Jennifer Show.” At the beginning of the Covid 2020 lockdown I needed an outlet to release frustration and fear.
Although I preached you don’t need to be elegant all the time, it was still something I held close. Not many people had seen the real raw me.
It was time for that to come to an end.
So here I stand before you, effortlessly elegant – real.
